Lumiere Festival, Ottawa
These pieces were created for Ottawa’s Luiere Festival. It is a festival that celebrates the fantastical and whimsical nature of lanterns and other art relying on light and fire.
Responding to the faerie culture often associated with this festival I was inspired to imagine the idea of secret lives, such as faeries, living in the woods that we do not notice and what some of these faeries might look like.
As this was a festival to light up the park, I used blacklights to illuminate the white thread of the drawings.
